Mangalyaan India's Mission To Mars - National Geographic Channel(In Tamil)

Courtesy:  National Geographic Channel

In its most daring missions to date, India successfully sent a spacecraft to orbit around Mars, making it the fourth space agency in the world and the first Asian country, to successfully send a mission to the red planet.

And they did this in record time, choosing a unique route and on a shoe-string budget, pulling off what is now globally recognised as the cheapest ride to Mars!
So how did the (ISRO) scientists, with no previous experience in sending an inter planetary mission, design, develop and successfully launch and navigate Mangalyaan through space? What were the hurdles they faced and what out of the box solutions did they come up with to address those challenges?

Using a combination of live action, expert interviews, archive footage and graphic representations the film captures the tension and drama points of the space mission.

Written and directed by Pria Somiah Alva along with Associate Director and researcher Shivani Muthanna, the documentary brings unique access to ISRO's Mars Mission Team.

The Last Days Of Osama Bin Laden - National Geographic Channel (In Tamil)

One of the most sensitive, top secret missions eliminates America’s number one terrorist target, Osama bin Laden, but the celebration is almost immediately tempered by thorny questions.  How did the U.S. finally catch up with the terrorist mastermind who eluded capture for nearly a decade?  Why was he able to hide in plain sight just yards away from Pakistan’s most prestigious military academy?  What was his day-to-day life like?  Was he able to direct attacks from his hideout?  And why did the man who vowed to resist to his last breath give up his life with not much of a fight?  National Geographic Channel opens a special report  that reveals the inside story of how the U.S. gathered the intelligence needed to pull off the surprise attack, with insight from former CIA agents, Navy SEAL operatives and high-ranking government officials, including retired general and CIA director David Petraeus.  Acclaimed journalist Peter Bergen, to whom Bin Laden first revealed his intention to wage a terrorist war on the West, and who is one of a small handful to have met him, heads to Pakistan for answers on the ground.  This multifaceted investigation reconstructs The Last Days of Osama Bin Laden

Set in the capital of Tamil Nadu in South India this is the story of one of the worst urban disasters in the world...that remained largely untold. A survival saga on the lines of the hugely successful Himalayan Tsunami. Its personal. Each story is told by people who lived through those fateful hours, with dramatic reenactments, expert opinion, real pics and spur-of-the-moment amateur video set against the backdrop of the drowning city of Chennai - It’s also a story of the triumph of the human spirit against extreme adversity and helplessness. It’s a tale of hope, of people who came together to help fellow citizens and eventually a rising from the depths of despair.
